Dog Days of Summer
Modern Luxury Dallas celebrates four-legged friends with an outdoor event.

THE PARTY
Modern Luxury Dallas toasted the final days of summer with an alfresco affair aptly titled Haute Dogs in the City, at the iLume Park Lifestyle Community. All four-legged friends were welcome.

THE SCENE
Two-legged guests noshed on “haute dogs” with a twist, courtesy of Wild About Harry’s, with a side of their signature custard. To beat the heat, Ben E. Keith provided cold 4 Blonde Ale, Alaskan White and Odell 90 Schilling Ale. For the canine attendees, treats and water stands (and accessory lounges!) came courtesy of Lucky Dog Barkery and Citydog! Club. Ilume’s Rick Williamson was there to announce the winner of a drawing for one lucky pet owner to win a custom portrait of their pooch by artists Brad Jensen and Sean McCune of “A Pet Project.”

THE HIGHLIGHTS
While all admission proceeds benefited Operation Kindness, the event itself was in honor of MLD’s 10 VIP pooch appreciators: veterinarian Dr. Brittney Barton, TACA’s Catherine Cody, Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s Penny Tower Cook and Becky Frey, Craighead-Green Gallery’s Kenneth Craighead and Steve Green, iLume’s Mike Champion and Shyla Ryan, and Skibell Fine Jewelry’s Charles Skibell. And it was a doggone good time.
